Top 5 Bollywood Movies
in 2022
In this blog, I searched out all the movies that were
released in 2022 and listed the top 5 movies that will surely entertain you. So
let's start!
1-
K.G.F: Chapter 2 :
K.G.F:
Chapter 2 is the most costly Kannada movie ever, at a budget of 100 crore. With
Bhuvan Gowda handling the cinematography and Ravi Basrur composing the film
score and songs, Neel used the same crew as its predecessor. Early in 2019,
Dutt and Tandon joined the cast, the former making his Kannada film debut. The
movie's scenes were shot concurrently with Chapter 1. The COVID-19 lockdown in
India forced the rest of the sequences' principal photography to end in
February 2020 after starting in March 2019. Five months later, filming resumed
back again, and it continued until December 2020. Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mysore,
and Kolar were among the locations.
K.G.F:
Chapter 2 received a theatrical release in Kannada on April 14, 2022, along
with dubs in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. Additionally, it is the first
Kannada movie to be shown in IMAX. Critics gave the movie mixed to excellent
reviews, praising the directing, action scenes, cinematography, and acting
(particularly Yash, Dutt and Tandon). Even though the narrative and speed of
the movie received mixed reviews, it is still thought to be an improvement over
the first portion. It was the second-highest opening day in India, broke
domestic Kannada, Hindi, and Malayalam opening day records, and in just two
days, it outperformed its predecessor's lifetime gross to become the highest-grossing
Kannada movie. K.G.F: Chapter 2, which has made between 1,200 and 1,250 crore
worldwide, is the second-highest-grossing Indian movie and the highest-grossing
Indian movie of 2022. A follow-up is being created.
2- Vikram :
Action
thriller Vikram is an Indian Tamil-language movie that was written and
co-written by Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rathna Kumar. Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil,
and Vijay Sethupathi also appear in it as well as Narain, Kalidas Jayaram, and
Chemban Vinod Jose in supporting parts. It is the second entry in the Lokesh
Cinematic Universe after Kaithi and serves as a spiritual successor to the 1986
movie of the same name (2019).
In
late 2019, Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International contracted Kanagaraj for a
projected script, with Rajinikanth set to play the lead. However, production
was put on hold because to the COVID-19 epidemic. Then, in September 2020,
Kanagaraj revealed another project, with Haasan serving as both producer and
the star. In November, the film's title Vikram was revealed, and substantial
pre-production activities proceeded until early 2021. Filming for the main
production took place all throughout Tamil Nadu, including Karaikudi, Chennai,
Pondicherry, and Coimbatore, from July 2021 to February 2022. Anirudh Ravichander
is responsible for the Vikram's soundtrack and score, while Girish Gangadharan
and Philomin Raj handled the film's cinematography and editing, respectively.
On
June 3, 2022, Vikram was given a theatrical release. The movie was well
received by critics, who praised the cast's performances as well as the
directing, script, music, cinematography, action scenes, and other technical
elements. The movie shattered numerous records and earned over 417-500 crore
(US$50-63 million), becoming the second-highest-grossing Tamil film of 2022 and
the fourth-highest-grossing Tamil film of all time.
3-Ponniyin Selvan: Part
I :
Ponniyin
Selvan: I, also known as The Son of Ponni, is a 2022 Indian Tamil-language epic
historical action adventure film that was co-written by Elango Kumaravel and B.
Jeyamohan. It was directed by Mani Ratnam. It is the first of two film
adaptations of Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan, and it was
produced by Ratnam and Subaskaran Allirajah under the banners of Madras Talkies
and Lyca Productions. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha,
Jayaram, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram
Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, R. Parthiban, and Lal are among the ensemble cast
members of the movie. A. R. Rahman wrote the soundtrack, while Ravi Varman shot
the movie, A. Sreekar Prasad edited it, and Thota Tharani did the production
design. Ponniyin Selvan: I dramatises Chola prince Arulmozhi's early childhood.
Varman, who would later ascend
to the throne as Rajaraja I (947–1014).
Since it
was first published, various Tamil filmmakers have considered adapting Ponniyin
Selvan for the big screen, including an effort by M. G. Ramachandran in the
late 1950s. Unfortunately, for budgetary reasons, this never happened. Ratnam
made unsuccessful attempts to adapt the book decades later, in the late 1980s
and the early 2010s. After Lyca decided to bankroll the movie, Ratnam
resurrected the project in January 2019 and referred to it as his "dream
project." Ponniyin Selvan's filming was delayed twice by the COVID-19
epidemic, starting in December 2019 and ending in September 2021, after
numerous cast and staff changes. The movie was primarily filmed in India, with
a few portions also being shot in Thailand.
Ponniyin
Selvan: I garnered positive reviews from critics who commended the directing,
cast performances, musical score, graphics, and fidelity to the book when it
was released in theatres on September 30, 2022, in both conventional and IMAX
formats. The movie broke multiple records at the box office, earning between
500 and 510 crores (US$63 and US$64 million), becoming the highest-grossing
Tamil film of 2022, the fourth-highest Tamil film of all time, and the
15th-highest-grossing Indian movie of all time.
4- RRR (Rise Roar
Revolt) :
The
epic action drama RRR was written by V. Vijayendra Prasad and S. S. Rajamouli,
and it was directed by S. S. Rajamouli in 2022. D. V. V. Danayya of DVV Entertainment
produced it. N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, Shriya Saran,
Samuthirakani, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, and Olivia Morris are among the
actors who appear in the movie. It revolves on the imaginary friendship between
Alluri Sitarama Raju (Charan) and Komaram Bheem (Rama Rao), two real-life
Indian rebels who fought the British Raj. The story, which takes place in the
1920s, focuses on the unrecorded period of their life when both revolutionaries
choose to live quiet lives before waging war for their nation.
Rajamouli
read accounts of Rama Raju and Bheem's lives and drew connections between them,
speculating on what may have happened if they had crossed paths and became
friends. The movie had a formal announcement in March 2018. Due to delays
brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, principal photography for the movie didn't
finish until August 2021, starting in Hyderabad in November 2018. The movie was
primarily shot in India, with a few scenes also being shot in Bulgaria and
Ukraine. M. M. Keeravani composed the soundtrack and background music for the
movie, which was shot by K. K. Senthil Kumar and edited by A. Sreekar Prasad.
The production designer for the movie is Sabu Cyril, and V. Srinivas Mohan
oversaw the visual effects.
RRR,
which cost 550 crore rupees ($72 million), is the most costly Indian movie ever
made. The movie's initial release date in theatres was set for July 30, 2020,
however it was repeatedly delayed because of the pandemic and production
issues. RRR was theatrically released on March 25, 2022, and received acclaim
for Rajamouli's direction, scripting, soundtrack, background score, action
sequences, cinematography, editing, and VFX. Rama Rao and Charan's performances
in particular received praise.
5- A Thursday :
Behzad
Khambata is the author and director of the vigilante thriller movie A Thursday,
which will be released in 2022 in Hindi. The movie, which also stars Yami
Gautam, Atul Kulkarni, Neha Dhupia, Dimple Kapadia, and Karanvir Sharma, was
made by RSVP Movies. On February 17, 2022, Disney+ Hotstar hosted the movie's
debut.
"Yami
Gautam's A Thursday is the kind of thriller that has been absent from Indian
cinemas for a while," commented Cyril of India Today in his review, giving
the movie a rating of 4/5. The Times Of India's Renuka Vyavahare gave the movie
a grade of 3/5 and said "A Thursday redeems itself despite having a pretty
predictable backstory with a strong emotional journey and societal critique in
the second half. It addresses a timely problem that will appeal to women
everywhere ".
"A
Thursday wants to be urgent, relevant, and cool, but succeeds only partially,
because it stops to make a point far too often," noted Pradeep Menon of
Firstpost in his review with a 2.75/5 rating. A Thursday is a Yami Gautam show,
and she definitely brings her A-game to the table, according to Koimoi's
Shubham Kulkarni, who gave the movie a 2.5/5 rating. However, the setup
somewhat sidelines her. The film received a 1.5/5 rating from Shubhra Gupta of
Indian Express, who also stated, "The main issue with Yami Gautam's film
is that we do not take any of this seriously, whether it is Naina brandishing a
gun or growling and cooing at her hostages.
I hope you will like
all the movies mentioned above and leave comments for more blogs like this.
